About Us

I was inspired by my mother with her frugal ways and vision. She would go to local auctions and buy antiques to restore. The only thing I remember her buying new was our couch.

IMG_5692I remember a story about her sending my dad to go pick up a cabinet she bought for $3. He was so mad when he got home. It had about ten layers of paint, was missing a leg, and all of the glass was broken out. My dad’s dad made the leg for it, my mom stripped the paint, refinished it and replaced the glass. It’s a vintage medical cabinet. This piece became one of our family heirlooms.

All of my life I have had a love of decorating. My home is full of family pictures passed down, beloved antiques and garage sale finds. Friends have asked time and time again to help them showcase their own treasures.

Thirteen years ago, a friend and I opened a faux finishing business. We took classes in Michigan and Florida. After a successful partnership, we both decided to work towards our passion.

I opened a small resale consignment store with a partner in Argentine. It was called The Gift of Thrift. I met great people and learned a lot.  After three years, with a growing business, I decided to move to Milford and open Odds & Ins.

The store opened in October of 2013 with the assistance of my wonderful husband Paul and my daughter Katy. The name was inspired by my love for showcasing unusual items that are meaningful to my customers.

I would love to meet you, so, stop by to learn more and walk away with a treasure of your own!
